The tutor we wished we'd had.
Every AI that helps with maths makes you leave the page to ask it something, then answers somewhere that is not the page. The thing a real tutor does, sitting next to you and watching the pen, was missing from all of them.
We study for handwritten STEM exams every semester. We are the users.
The team
Two Bocconi students building the tutor we wished we'd had.
Darius Farcas
Co-founder. Product, engineering and pedagogy
Owns technical architecture, AI systems, product engineering and UX. Leads the tutoring experience itself: how the AI tutor, the student's handwriting, the Apple Pencil input and the learner profile fit together as one thing rather than four.
He lived the problem from both sides, through the Romanian state-school system and then British A-levels, which is a direct education in the gap between what a classroom gives thirty people and what one tutor gives one person.
Background in software engineering, applied AI and interface development. CS50 and CS50AI, several shipped AI and software projects, multiple hackathon wins and two UKMT silver awards.
Filip Lukasiewicz
Co-founder and CEO. Growth, sales and operations
Owns strategy, go to market, fundraising, operations and AI product strategy. Designed Klera's learner-profiling architecture: live behavioural signals, confidence-weighted inference and long-term ability tracking, combined into how the tutor decides to teach.
Currently AI Growth and Automation Lead at Flashka, an AI study platform with over 2 million users and six-figure monthly recurring revenue. He builds the internal AI tools and automated content pipelines that scale its growth, runs creator networks for distribution across markets, and drives go-to-market and international expansion.
Before that he owned growth and market expansion at Flashka across multiple markets, helping take it past 2 million users: the full funnel from marketing spend to paid conversion, creator networks across countries, and product analytics that turned user behaviour into experiments and product improvements.
Winner of the OpenAI and Bocconi hackathon, selected from over 1,000 applicants. Studies International Economics and Finance at Bocconi, where he is operations lead at the Entrepreneurship Club and president of AI projects at the Bocconi AI Lab.
How we work
We show the product, never an imitation
Every screenshot and clip of Klera on this site is a real capture from the app. We never draw handwriting in code to illustrate a handwriting engine.
We separate measured from modelled
Anything we publish as a measurement came from a real session on a real iPad. Anything modelled says so.
We don't score the student
The model of a student is detailed, and it is never shown to them. No percentage, no streak, no progress bar.
Get in touch
Students wanting early access, investors wanting the detail, engineers who find this interesting. We answer.
